Fleas can take over a home in Brisbane in the warm, humid months. They usually arrive on a dog or cat, but they can also be left behind by previous tenants or wander in from the yard. Adult fleas are only a small part of the problem, because eggs and larvae shelter in carpets, rugs, floor gaps and pet bedding.
When you call, tell us about the size of the home, the floor types and any pets. Houses, units and townhouses are all common flea jobs. We give you upfront pricing and book a nearby independent crew. The crew we book treats the floors and the places pets rest, plus shaded parts of the yard where fleas breed.
- Treatment of carpets, rugs and floor gaps
- Attention to pet resting spots, couches and under beds
- Outdoor treatment of shaded lawn, under decks and kennels
- A product that stops eggs and larvae growing into adults
- Advice on vacuuming and washing before and after the visit
Getting ready matters with fleas. Vacuum every floor and couch before the crew arrives, then empty the vacuum outside. Wash pet bedding in hot water and pick up toys and clothes from the floor. Pets should be treated by your vet at the same time, or the fleas simply come back.
Keep vacuuming for a couple of weeks after the treatment, because the vibration brings new fleas out of their cocoons to meet the treatment. You may see a few jumping fleas during that time, which is expected. Keep pets off treated floors until they are dry.
